Information Technology Policy

Computing (ICT)

The computers and internet connection in Tornedale are used for learning. The following rules are used to help us to be fair to others and keep everyone safe:

  • Pupils are expected to ask permission before entering any website, unless their class teacher has already approved that site.
  • Pupils will not bring memory sticks or CDs into school without permission.
  • Pupils will not use internet chat or social networking sites in school.
If a pupil sees something that they are unhappy with or they receive messages they do not like, they will tell a teacher immediately.
When using special equipment (such as cameras, ipads, BeeBots, etc) pupils will be sensible and careful to avoid accidental damage.
  • Pupils understand that if they deliberately break these rules, they could be stopped from using the internet or computers.

Please note the school may exercise its right by electronic means to monitor the use of the school’s computer systems, including the monitoring of websites, the interception of e-mail and the deletion of inappropriate materials in circumstances where it believes unauthorized use of the school’s computer system is or may be taking place, or the system is or may be being used for criminal purposes or for storing text or imaginary which is unlawful or unauthorized.
