School Meals
From September 2014 all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes have been offered a “free” healthy school meal each lunchtime. Doncaster Schools Catering prepare the meals in our own kitchen. The menu for each week will be displayed on all entrance doors into school for your information. It is important that the school office be informed of any child with any allergy, intolerance or any medical diet so that the kitchen staff can provide the correct food for every child. This information must be supplied by a medical professional.
School Milk
Every child under the age of five is entitled to free school milk and is available to over fives for less than £15 per term. All milk is provided through the external company ‘Cool Milk’ and you will need to register with them to ensure your child receives their milk.
You can register in two easy ways:
Go online and quickly register your child for school milk at www.coolmilk.com
Alternatively, complete a form (available from the School Office) and send to Freepost Cool Milk (no further address needed)
Sweets & Snacks
We have a “Healthy School” status so do not allow sweets in school, other than on special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, etc. We sometimes have snacks for sale at school events, but try to choose the healthiest option available to us. A selection of fruit is delivered to school weekly. This choice of fruit is available in all classrooms for the children to eat at the designated snack time.
Food Allergies & Special Diets
It is very important that you let the Class Teacher or Headteacher know if your child has any allergies or special diets for either health or religious reasons. We do require medical evidence of any allergies.
